For me, it happened at school when I first moved to Canada. It was verbal bullying \u2013 name-calling, sarcastic remarks, and taunting, mostly. I never told anyone because I didn\u2019t know what it was or how to recognize it.  According to Bullying Canada, <em>bullying<\/em> is when someone hurts or scares someone else on purpose. It is one-sided and pointed; it can be verbal, social, or physical; it can happen face-to-face, in cyberspace, or both; and it can be a one-time incident or recurring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-types-of-bullying\">Types of Bullying<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Verbal: <\/strong>includes name-calling, negative cultural or racial references, threats, taunting, and inappropriate sexual comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social:<\/strong> includes leaving someone out on purpose, telling people not to be friends with someone, humiliating them in public, and telling rumours about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Physical: <\/strong>includes hitting, kicking, punching, spitting, shoving, chasing, poking, and stealing someone\u2019s belongings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wizcase.com\/blog\/a-comprehensive-cyberbullying-guide-for-parents\/\"><strong>Cyber Bullying: <\/strong><\/a>includes using various online platforms (text, email, social media, the Internet) to tease someone, spread rumours about them, intimidate them, or put them down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-steps-to-identify-prevent-and-stop-bullying\">Steps to Identify, Prevent, and Stop Bullying<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Talk to your kids about bullying and how to identify it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teach them to tell someone if it happens to them, or if they see it happen to someone else.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guide them on what to do if they bully someone, and that it&#8217;s not ok.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage your kids to deal with conflict without violence and talk things out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"rounded-btn border-b-2 border-light-grey bg-off-white lg:grid lg:grid-cols-3 gap-2\">\n    <article class=\"lg:col-span-2 flex flex-col gap-4 p-6 lg:p-12\">\n        <h3 class=\"text-2xl\">Renting your first home in Canada | Options &#038; solutions for newcomers<\/h3>\n        <p>Searching for your first home in Canada?
